In the spring of 2002 the UK Government started to change its policy on speed camera's as they were realising that the public did not like them and they were not being used to improve road safety - but just to generate revenue. Accordingly it has been issuing further guidelines on where to site cameras and that the public must be given ample warning of them. This is starting to extend into movable speed traps and the Police are now starting to give advance warning of where the speed traps will be on given days. Obviously they are somewhat reluctant to do this, but a few have started listing the movable (radar/laser) traps on their websites. Accordingly we have listed below all of the Police web sites for you to check out. If your local Police site, doesn't list them yet - then keep checking every few weeks until they do.
